Then check the "Hardware IDs" of your touchpad in Device Manager. If they start with "STLC" (or something close), you have a Sentelic touchpad. Otherwise, it is a Synaptics. Also, I noticed that if you have the dongle plugged in to the computer and the mouse has an on-off mechanism then you can just turn the mouse off and back on.
